How we treat pigmentation at Epitomi
A good pigmentation plan usually has more than one part.
First, we work out what is driving the pigmentation. Then we decide what your skin can tolerate. Only then do we choose treatment. Your plan may include one or more of the following.
Medical-grade skincare
Medical-grade skincare is often the starting point for pigmentation. It helps prepare the skin, control inflammation and support your treatment results between appointments. Depending on your skin and diagnosis, Dr Effie may recommend active ingredients that target pigmentation, improve skin turnover or support barrier repair.
Some pigmentation concerns may need prescription treatment. If that is appropriate, Dr Effie will discuss it with you privately during consultation. Prescription-only medicines are not promoted on this page because they are not suitable for everyone and should not be chosen from a website.

LED light therapy
LED light therapy can be used as part of a wider pigmentation plan, especially when the skin is inflamed, stressed or reactive. It does not bleach the skin. That is not the aim.
LED is used to support skin recovery and help create a calmer foundation for other treatments. For some patients, that matters just as much as the treatment itself.

Medical-grade chemical peels
Medical-grade chemical peels can help with superficial pigmentation, uneven tone and dullness. The peel chosen depends on your skin type, the cause of the pigmentation and how reactive your skin is. A peel that is too aggressive can create more inflammation, which can lead to more pigmentation. That is why we do not choose peels by strength alone.
A course may be recommended, alongside skincare and daily sun protection.

PRX-T33 for face, neck and decolletage
PRX-T33 can be used on the face and neck to improve skin quality, texture and uneven tone, with less visible peeling than traditional medium-depth peels. It may be recommended when pigmentation is part of a wider concern, such as dullness, loss of firmness or uneven texture.
Current pricing:
- PRX-T33 face and neck: £250
- Decolletage add-on: £40
- Course of three: £750
- Course of five: £1,000

PRX-T Lady for intimate and delicate areas
Pigmentation in intimate or delicate areas is common. It can be linked to friction, shaving, waxing, ingrown hairs, irritation or hormonal change.
PRX-T Lady is used for areas including the underarms, bikini line, external vulval skin, areolas and perianal area. At Epitomi, this is treated as a skin concern. Not as a promise to change your natural skin colour. Not as cosmetic bleaching.
Dr Effie will assess the area first, check whether there is irritation or an underlying skin condition, and advise whether PRX-T Lady is appropriate.
PRX-T Lady: £275

Microneedling
Microneedling may be considered for some types of post-inflammatory pigmentation, especially where there is also texture change or acne marking. It is not right for every pigmentation concern. For example, if your pigmentation is easily triggered by inflammation, the priority may be to calm and stabilise the skin first.
When microneedling is suitable, it is usually part of a wider plan that includes skincare and pigment control between sessions.

Do we offer laser or IPL for pigmentation?
We do not currently offer laser or IPL for pigmentation at Epitomi. That is intentional. Pigmentation can be sensitive, especially when melasma or post-inflammatory pigmentation is involved. Heat-based treatments are not always the right choice and can make some pigmentation worse.
Dr Effie will recommend the treatment route she feels is safest and most appropriate for your skin.
