How does LED therapy work?
LED light therapy works by penetrating the skin at different depths using light of specific wavelengths. Each color of light targets distinct skin concerns by stimulating cellular activity:
- Blue Light (415nm): Targets the skin’s surface to kill acne-causing bacteria, reduce inflammation, and prevent breakouts.
- Red Light (630nm): Penetrates deeper into the skin to boost collagen production, improve circulation, and reduce redness and fine lines.
- Yellow Light (590nm): Stimulates lymphatic flow, calms the skin, and enhances radiance.
- Near Infrared Light (830nm): Reaches the deepest layers of the skin, accelerating healing, reducing pain, and promoting cell regeneration. This wavelength is highly sought after for its anti-aging and pain management properties.

Before performing the procedure, Dr Effie will consult you on the suitability of the procedure.
Your skin is then prepared with a mild cleanser, rinsed and dried thoroughly. By a manual deep facial massage, 2 ml of the facial peeling solution is applied per area. This is repeated 2-5 times, on each area of the face / neck / décolletage. The product is then massaged firmly until it is absorbed, and a palpable or visible elasticity is observed.
A course of these peels is incredibly effective. PRX-T33 promotes stimulation of fibroblasts and growth factors without causing inflammation or damaging the skin. The treatment can be performed at any time of year, unlike peeling, because it is not photosensitising, and it is suitable for all skin types.
